Last Sunday we invited employees in Mexico to share their feelings on the outlook of their job, the job market, the economy and their employer as part of the Alder Koten Employee Confidence Index survey. The survey is still open (click here to participate) and so far the feedback includes:
63% of employees in Mexico are confident about not losing their job but 44% say they are actively looking for a new one. Only 21% feel there is no need to look. However, the vast majority (97%) feel confident about the economy improving and the future of their employer.

About the Alder Koten Employee Confidence Index
Newly introduced in June 2011, the Alder Koten Mexico Employee Confidence Index is based on a bi-yearly survey of professionals and executives in Mexico.
The survey provides a snapshot of the latest employee sentiment across the country and in key metropolitan areas. Three key indices are measured:
- The Alder Koten Mexico Job Security Index, which measures how likely respondents think it is that they will lose their job or that their job will be eliminated in the next 12 months
- The Alder Koten Mexico Transition Index, which measures how likely respondents are to look for a new job in the next 12 months
- The Alder Koten Mexico Employee Confidence Index, which measures employees’ overall confidence in the economy, the future of their employer, the availability of jobs, and their ability to find other employment.
The Alder Koten Employee Confidence Index is based on these three components which are averaged to indicate an overall level of employee confidence scaled from 0 (no confidence) to 100 (complete confidence). A reading above 50 indicates a positive confidence level.
